The idea of mobile operating systems came in to existence came with the need of a manager that is required to overlook,control and co ordinate the activities in the mobile phone.the major operating system now being used in mobile phones is the symbian operating system.it has it’s own library and reference implications.the greatest merit of the symbian operating system is that it considers security and the integrity of the data provided by it the ultimate importance.symbian opearating system has currently fifty percent of the total market share due to it’s compatability.windows have introduced operating system which is compatable with most of the cellphones available in the market right now.
but the demerit as quoted by one of the ceo’s of vodafone is that thera are more and more operating systems being developed making things much more complicated. so vodafone is considering issuing only mobile phones of symbian and windows from next year onwards.
